Independent project

Three weeks ago we started working on our end of the year individual projects. We had to use three mediums. (Photo, paper, paint, pencil etc.) I based my project on myself. For the background i did the Cambodian flag because that is what i am. I drew Seattle because that's where I'm born and raised. I made a flower out of paper because i like flowers and i think they're pretty. I am also going to add a portrait of myself. This was a fun project that i really enjoyed.

Bubbles

For this activity we went outside and blew bubbles. We photographed them and tried to catch the color of the soap and also ourselves in the bubbles. They came out very pretty.

Toys

For this project we had to take photos of toys up close, then far away, then even farther away. We did this to see different views of the object. Also to make the the object look realistic rather than a toy.

Forced Perspective

For this assignment we had one person go very far way and another stay close to the camera. This caused the person viewing the photo to be forced to see the photo in a different way.

Colors

This week we have been working with colors. How each color compliments one-another. We started with water coloring, filling in our color wheel. We mixed different colors. Our main colors or base colors were red, blue, and yellow. Then we went on a scavenger hunt to find the colors on our color wheel. And take photos of those things. We also had to follow the rule of thirds, and think about the lighting of the photo.

Portraits

For the last couple of days we've been working on taking portraits of our classmates. Still following the rule of thirds and trying to find the light in the photo. At first we were using strobe lights to capture photos, then we moved to natural light. I found that i like natural lighting better, it looks better in the photos.

This was using the strobe lights, and Sahara took this. You can really see the light in Andrew's eyes.
This was outside, with Andrew as the photographer. You can see the rule, and also how the picture isnt centered.
Sahara took this photo of Victoria using natural light.
Andrew took this one, you can see the detail in the fence.

Portraits

Yesterday we started taking portraits of eachother, following the rule of thirds. Trying to make our eyes pop or to make our photos more lively. This was our first time, so of course these photos are not the best. But they still are something great. We had to play with the sunlight & the angles of where the sun was hitting our face.

In this photo the sunlight was coming from the side.
